Galvanized Steel Air Filter Clips: Advantages and Applications

On the other hand, galvanized steel is regular carbon steel coated with a layer of zinc through hot-dip galvanizing or electroplating, which gives the material a combination of strength, formability, and corrosion resistance at a cost-effective price. The zinc layer provides sacrificial protection—corroding in place of the underlying steel. As a material choice it offers a more economical option while still delivering adequate durability for standard HVAC applications, particularly in residential and light commercial settings where environmental conditions are relatively mild and exposure to moisture or chemicals is limited. The affordability and ease of fabrication make galvanized steel an attractive choice for high-volume production or budget-conscious projects, especially where the air handling units are not subject to harsh or corrosive environments.

Galvanized steel is well-suited for air filter clips in HVAC systems operating in mild to moderate environments such as residential buildings, light commercial settings, and indoor areas with stable temperatures and low moisture levels. Ideal applications include standard office spaces, schools, and non-industrial facilities where budget constraints exist, and the environmental conditions do not demand the higher corrosion resistance of stainless steel.
